It's funny, some people like 73 better than 74 . I Love both ! I like the whole history of the band , though , my preference is for the 60's and 70's . 73-74 are right up there as my favs , I like jams, so go figure !
But one would be missing something, if you ignored the band pasted their "classic" period ( however you might define it ). Even in 95 , there is some great, and or interesting material, it is just more uneven . A little like Dylan, past his 60's records ,i.e., even "Down In the Grove" has Silvio .
Oh , Hello !

Hey '74 fan...welcome, and for a '73 suggestion, please check out 6/22/73, Vancouver...if only for the BIRDSONG. Truly one of the greatest ever played.

One of the 2 things that 74 dosen't have , "H.C. Sunshine " ( ok, one version) and "Bird Song's" like this ! I wonder why they droped it ? As much as I like the Nov-Dec 73 shows, they miss the "Bird Songs" from earlier in the year .

Yes, and slightly off-topic--but that's also a complaint I have w/my favorite all-time year of 1977--no Birdsongs at all! Imagine how great that tune would have been given how astonishingly good they were that year.

That's an example why, I feel there is no "perfect" year , or show, there is usually something missing .

I'm definitely an omnivore and love some of the later stuff too. Thanks for the suggestions!
